Managing your Diabetes

The fundamental goal of this website is to help you develop the knowledge and skills you need to manage your diabetes. Within this section you will find information on a range of subjects from selecting a blood glucose meter to caring for your feet. There are hardly any situations in daily life where direct contact with a health professional is essential. What you may need, though, is guidance on a range of daily situations which can be provided by an online reference source.

If this site helps you develop into someone whose diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol levels are well controlled and if you have a clear understanding of dealing with the day to day challenges of diabetes without needing to seek assistance, then we would have achieved our objective! Once you are an 'expert patient' you may be willing to use this learning to help others - see our 'expert patient program'  for details.
