The feet in people with diabetes are at risk of ulceration due to poor circulation
and loss of protective sensation (neuropathy). When wounds develop, healing may be
impaired due to infection. Many of these foot ulcers can be prevented, by detecting
the complications of diabetes and by preventing injury and breaks in the skin. Your
doctor and podiatrist will examine your feet regularly and advise you further.
